Knock Knock Take a Break #4

🎈 Batchim (Final Consonants)

Hello, everyone! This is Soo from Play the Korean.
Today we learn something very important in Hangul — Batchim (final consonants).

1) What is Batchim?

Batchim is the consonant at the bottom of a syllable.

감 = γ„± + ㅏ + ㅁ
λ°₯ = γ…‚ + ㅏ + γ…‚

2) Basic Batchim Sounds

Many batchim sounds are simplified when pronounced.

γ„± → k
γ„· → t
γ…‚ → p

Example:

λ°• → "bak"
λ° → "bat"
λ°₯ → "bap"

3) Sound Change Rule

When the next syllable starts with a vowel, the batchim moves.

λ°₯ + 이 → λ°”λΉ„
ν•œκ΅μ–΄ → ν•œκ΅¬κ±°

This is called liaison (linking sound).

4) Mini Reading Challenge 🎯

κΉ€λ°₯ · μ±… · 꽃 · 집 · ν•œκ΅

Read slowly → then naturally.

Batchim is tricky — but you did great! πŸ‘
