Hello, everyone! This is Soo from Play the Korean.

Batchim (final consonants).
1) What is Batchim?
Batchim is the consonant at the bottom of a syllable.
κ° = γ± + γ
+ γ
λ°₯ = γ
+ γ
+ γ
2) Basic Batchim Sounds
Many batchim sounds are simplified when pronounced.
γ± → k
γ· → t
γ
→ p
Example:
λ° → "bak"
λ° → "bat"
λ°₯ → "bap"
3) Sound Change Rule
When the next syllable starts with a vowel, the batchim moves.
λ°₯ + μ΄ → λ°λΉ
νκ΅μ΄ → νꡬ거
This is called liaison (linking sound).
4) Mini Reading Challenge π―
κΉλ°₯ · μ± · κ½ · μ§ · νκ΅
Read slowly → then naturally.
Batchim is tricky — but you did great! π
